Clermont County Jail Roster
The official Clermont County Jail Inmate Search is the public list for current inmates in the Clermont County Jail. The sheriff homepage says it is the most current listing of inmates in the Corrections facility and updates at the top of every hour. No login, registration, or fee was observed in the research. The public page is not a form-based search system in the static view. It is an alphabetical current list with a Details link beside each name.
That design shapes how Clermont County inmate records should be searched. Open the current list, use browser find for the last name, and review the Details block. The county roster does not cover people who have already moved to state prison after a felony sentence. It also does not replace the Municipal Clerk or Common Pleas Clerk case-access systems, where formal charges, docket entries, bond orders, amended charges, pleas, dismissals, and sentences are tracked.
For booking photos connected to a current jail entry, use the Clermont County jail mugshots page because the public roster text inspected for this project did not show a visible mugshot field.
Search Clermont County Inmates
Start with the sheriff roster when the question is current local custody. The roster is best for confirming that a person is in the county jail now, reading the booking number and booking date, and checking the charge and bond fields that jail staff have made public. Because the page is an alphabetical list, a partial or misspelled name can be a problem. Try the last name alone, then check common spelling variants if needed.
- Open the official Clermont County Jail Inmate Search page.
- Use browser find or scroll to the person's last name.
- Select the Details link for the matching name.
- Read DOB, sex, booking number, booking date, and every charge line.
- Confirm court dates through the clerk if the roster shows a placeholder or stale date.
- If no listing appears, use the fallback channels below before assuming no arrest occurred.
The roster can lag a new booking until the next hourly update. A release, transport, or state-prison transfer can also remove the person from the current list.
Clermont County Search Fields
The research found no visible search boxes, advanced filters, release tabs, date filters, or export buttons on the static roster page. The practical search field is the inmate's displayed name. Details then expose structured public fields for that booking.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Inmate name | Roster heading | N/A | Displayed as last name, first name, middle name when available. |
| Details | Link or accordion | N/A | Opens the public inmate information block. |
| Browser find | Browser tool | No | Useful because the roster is a current alphabetical list. |
| Search boxes | None observed | N/A | No Search, Reset, advanced search, or facility dropdown was visible. |
Clermont County Inmate Profile
A Clermont County inmate profile can have several charge blocks under one booking. Read the whole entry. One charge may show Municipal Court, another may show Common Pleas Court, and a holder line may use a different label. Bond is also shown per charge, so one payable amount does not prove the person can be released if another line shows a holder or no-bond status.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Name heading | Public display name with the Details link. |
| DOB | Date of birth in the observed MM/DD/YYYY format. |
| Sex | M or F in observed entries. |
| Booking Number | Eight-digit booking number, often year-prefixed in observed records. |
| Booking Date | Date booked into Clermont County Jail. |
| Charges | Charge number, Ohio code-style reference, and plain charge name. |
| Case Number | Court case number or holder label. |
| Court Date | Next date if populated. Placeholder dates should be checked with the clerk. |
| Bond Type and Amount | Per-charge code and dollar amount. Confirm release eligibility before paying. |
| Mugshot | No booking photo was observed in the public static roster text. |

The image reflects the key point for Clermont County inmate records: the list is current-custody focused and should be paired with court access or records requests when history is needed.
When No Inmate Appears
If the person is not on the Clermont County jail roster, check the timing and custody type. A new arrest may not be posted until the next hourly update. A person may also have been released, transferred to another agency, sentenced to state prison, held in federal custody, held by ICE, or booked under a different name. The county roster is not a statewide arrest database and does not publish a released-inmate archive in the official sources reviewed.
The sheriff's public-records process is the local fallback for older booking records, incident reports, booking records, and photos not shown online. The office's form asks for details such as record type, report or case number, incident date, address, subject names, and a short description. Ohio law does not require a written request or a requester's identity, but clear identifiers help the office locate the record.
Records demand is a documented part of the local custody system. The sheriff's 2025 Annual Review says the office received 3,591 public-records requests in 2025, up from 2,820 in 2024, and that body-worn-camera and case-file requests also increased. It also says the office began using NextRequest software on June 23, 2025 so requesters can submit and track requests and view some fulfilled requests in a public archive. Use is optional, so email, phone, voicemail, in-person, and hard-copy delivery channels still matter where supported by the records process.
Note: A blank roster search does not prove no arrest occurred. Check release, transfer, court, and public-records channels.
Clermont County Jail Contact
The county jail is the facility tied to the roster. The sheriff's main public number is used because official research did not find a separate jail-only public number on the jail FAQ. For emergencies, use 911. For in-progress non-emergency matters, the sheriff contact page points to the Clermont County Communications Center.

Clermont County Jail Visits
The official jail FAQ says there is no open visitation. The inmate schedules the visit with jail staff, then the inmate is responsible for telling the visitor the assigned day and time. Visit days vary by housing assignment, and jail staff are not permitted to tell a caller the inmate's visitation schedule. That rule is important because roster lookup and visit planning are separate tasks.
| Topic | Official Detail |
|---|---|
| Open visitation | No open visitation. |
| Scheduling | The inmate schedules the visit with jail staff. |
| Schedule source | Visit days vary by housing assignment. |
| Caller access | Jail staff cannot tell callers the visitation schedule. |
| Visitor notice | The inmate must notify the visitor of the assigned day and time. |
Mail Money and Phones
Mail must be sent through the U.S. Postal Service with the inmate name and the jail address. The FAQ says all inmate mail must have a return address. Telephone messages are not given to inmates unless there is a verifiable family emergency, and false emergency attempts may lead to inmate discipline. Inmates receive two free local calls upon booking and can use collect calling from housing and holding areas.

Property rules can matter when a search shows a transfer or pending state transport. The jail FAQ says staff accept only medically necessary devices such as prosthetics, contact lenses, or glasses. It also notes that people transported to a state institution generally cannot take personal property with them and may need family to pick it up. Confirm custody and transfer status before sending funds, mailing property, or making a trip to the jail.
County State Federal Custody
The Clermont County jail roster is for local jail custody. A felony sentence to prison belongs in ODRC Offender Search, which can search by name, county of commitment, status, parole-board date, offender number, and other fields. Federal sentenced inmates are searched through the BOP inmate locator. Immigration detention uses the ICE Online Detainee Locator System. VINELink at vinelink.com or 800-770-0192 is for custody or release notifications.
| Custody Question | Best Channel |
|---|---|
| Current county jail inmate | Clermont County Jail Inmate Search. |
| Formal charge or docket | Municipal or Common Pleas case access. |
| Sentenced Ohio prisoner | ODRC Offender Search. |
| Federal sentenced prisoner | BOP inmate locator. |
| Immigration detainee | ICE locator. |
| Release notification | VINELink or VINE phone line. |
ODRC search fields are different from county roster fields. ODRC can use last name, first name, county of commitment, residential county for supervision searches, status, next parole-board hearing date, offender number, and result sorting. The county of commitment field means the sentencing county, not where the person is housed. BOP and ICE searches also answer different questions. BOP covers federal inmates from 1982 to present, while ICE searches current immigration detention by A-number or biographical details. None of those systems is a Clermont County Jail booking roster.
